Bella and the kitchen remodel

Not everyone was as excited about getting a new kitchen.  See Bella's reaction here.

Saturday

Ahhhh...mmmmmm...a finale!

At last, the kitchen is complete and looks remarkable.  The final touches down the stretch were to add the molding, grout the floors, install the appliances, paint the trim and a gazillion other small tasks that helped to make this the perfect kitchen.  Some amenities of the kitchen include: wine bar, desk area, "stowaway" cabinets and drawers, stainless steel appliances, new lighting, adjusted electrical outlets for laptop of small appliance use, etc.  The project was large, but Matt was in charge and it shows.  Enjoy these photos and stay tuned for some commentary from Bella.

Wednesday

Bathroom

The bathroom is complete!  As I told Matt, "Great...now this bathroom is 10 times better than the old one, so all I can think now is 'we need to fix the old bathroom'".  Anyway, we added a shower.  Changed out the sink/vanity combo.  Added the mirror/medicine cabinet.  Rewired electrical and added a bath fan/light/nightlight combo.  New faucets.  New tile.  It is a thing of beauty.

Monday

Music Room

The first room to be complete and back in order is the music room.  The old closest was removed and a new washer/dryer closet was installed to give more room for rock and roll enthusiasts to jump around.  The washer and dryer were stacked and removed from the kitchen.  A shelf was added inside the closet for landry accessories and a horizontal bar for hanging clothes to dry.  New couch? No! New couch cover.  If you notice the cigar box guitar, thank the King and Queen of Tampa for that awesome piece of rockabilly sub-culture.

Tuesday

Despite Home Depot's negligence, the bathroom tile is in.

Saturday

Construction Crew at Night

Weird hats, too many drinks and the world's best bread, tiramisu, eggplant parm, seafood, and everything else.

P.S. Best quote of the week...

Mom: I'm okay to drive.  What's that say on the police car?  Fozzy?
Roxanne:  I think that is a zip code.

Friday

Day 16/Day 17

Installed the rest of the bottom cabinets so the countertop dude could measure.  Mudded the walls.  Mudded the ceiling.  Mudded the walls again.  Painted trim and doors.

Wednesday

Day 15

Bottom cabinets going in nicely.  Spent hours dealing with customer (non)service.  Fun times.
